Date of birth
Marcus Bean started his career with Queens Park Rangers and made his professional debut - coincidentally - at Adams Park in a 4-1 defeat in August 2002.
He won a Young Player of the Year award on the way to Rangers' promotion to the Championship and spent two spells on loan at Swansea before moving to Blackpool in 2006, but found it hard to establish himself as a first-team regular and switched to Brentford two years later.
Marcus enjoyed a successful spell at Griffin Park, scoring nine goals in their League Two title-winning season in 2009, and played over 150 times before joining Colchester United on a three-year deal in 2012.
Bean spent time on loan at Portsmouth in late 2014 before signing an initial 18-month deal at Adams Park in January 2015, and he made his debut in a 1-0 win over York City.
After some impressive displays in the middle of the park to help take the Chairboys’ 2016/17 play-off hopes to the final day, Marcus signed a one-year contract extension with the club in the summer of 2017.
After 104 games without a goal for Wanderers, Bean broke that duck in dramatic fashion as he bagged an injury time winner for ten-man Wycombe in a 4-3 thriller at home to Carlisle United in February 2018. He would go on to score again in a 1-1 draw at Exeter City as the midfield man made 36 appearances in 2017/18.
Bean agreed a one-year contract extension in the summer of 2018 as the midfield rock will be plying his trade in the third tier once more, after spending much of his career in the division.
