A battling midfielder, Luke O’Nien joined the Chairboys in the summer of 2015 following a successful trial.

O'Nien had been with Watford since the age of nine and spent a year on loan at Wealdstone in 2014/15, scoring five goals in 35 appearances.

Following his release from Vicarage Road, O'Nien caught the eye of Gareth Ainsworth during a trial period in the summer of 2015, and earned a one-year deal, making his debut in the opening day win against York City and scoring his first professional goal against Northampton in October.

At the 2015/16 end of season awards dinner Luke was in the spotlight, picking up the Young Player of the Year award through the recognition of the management staff after impressing them on and off the pitch.

O’Nien was also a close contender for the two Player of the Year titles and signed a three-year contract extension in 2016, recapturing that form throughout the 2016/17 campaign, scoring three times.
