Gareth Ainsworth made Nathan Tyson his second signing of the summer of 2017, securing the forward on a one-year contract.

Tyson re-joined the club following a successful trial during pre-season, having left Adams Park for Nottingham Forest in 2005.

The striker scored 44 times in two years in his first spell with the Chairboys after joining from Reading in 2004.

His goalscoring prowess would continue at the City Ground, netting 42 times for Forest in five-and-a-half years at the club, helping the midlands outfit achieve promotion to the Championship in 2008.

The pacey forward later played for Derby County, Doncaster Rovers and most recently Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock before making his return to Wanderers.

Tyson’s speed proved to be a real thorn in the side for League Two defences in 2017/18, scoring eight times including a late winner at home to Crewe in September and a brace in a 3-2 win at Luton in January.
