Date of birth
The former Wales U21 captain moved to Wycombe in July 2014 having enjoyed a successful career previously, starting out in the youth team at Cardiff City.
He left the Bluebirds in 2007 and crossed the Severn Bridge to join Bristol Rovers. In 2007/08 Joe was named Supporters Young Player of the Year, as well as being part of the side that won promotion to League One and reached an FA Cup Quarter Final. After moves to Oldham and Accrington, Joe found himself at Shrewsbury where he made himself the first choice left back.
In the 13/14 season Joe scored a contender for Goal of the Season vs Sheffield United and ended the season as the club’s Player of the Year. That strike was arguably bettered by his first goal for Wycombe - a thunderbolt of a free-kick in a 3-1 win at Morecambe - and he followed it with fine strikes against Cheltenham and Southend.
The left-back scored the Wanderers' goal in the play-off final at Wembley in 2015 and signed a two-year extension to his contract in the summer, going on to score a famous goal from the spot in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Jacobson remained a virtual ever-present during the 2016/17 season, scoring three times, all from the spot.
