Republic of Ireland

The experienced, versatile winger was Wycombe’s fifth signing of the 2020/21 season, arriving from Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership League, having played 81 times in three seasons.

The Irish international started his career for his local club Galway having been born in the area, making 23 appearances before moving to Cork City and then Dundalk FC.

It was at Dundalk FC where he would make 17 appearances in UEFA European competition, including six appearances in the Europa League group stage. It was only the second time an Irish side had qualified for the competition proper, being the lowest-seeded team in that year’s Europa League. Horgan contributed with a goal and two assists.

He then moved across the Irish Sea to Preston North End making a combined 44 appearances in all competitions, even scoring in the FA Cup against Wycombe.

He then moved above the border to Hibernian, playing regularly for the Scottish side in the Premiership for two seasons and making five appearances at the beginning of the 2020/21 season. In his time with Hibernian, he scored 10 and assisted 16, reaching the semi-finals of the League Cup last season.

Horgan earned his seventh international cap for Ireland - his first in two years - when he stepped off the bench in a Nations League tie against Wales in October 2020.
