Republic of Ireland

Irish international Horgan arrived as the fifth signing of the 2020/21 Championship campaign, proving a consistent threat across the frontline with 47 appearances in all competitions last term.

Beginning in his hometown of Galway, he spent most of his early career in Ireland where he joined Sligo Rovers, Cork City, and later Dundalk where his side reached the Champions League play-off round. Earning the PFAI Young Player of the Year in his first season at Oriel Park, he went on to play every minute in their 2016/17 Europa League group stage- notching against Zenit St. Petersburg and setting up two despite finishing bottom of the group.

A switch to England saw the tricky winger join Championship Preston North End in 2017 where he featured 44 times. Scoring four while at Deepdale, including one at Adams Park in the 5-1 FA Cup success for the Lilywhites, he then moved north of the border to Hibernian; with 81 appearances for Hibs, he became a notable figure as he scored two against bitter rivals Hearts in the Edinburgh Derby.

Wycombe came calling where he returned to the Championship as he scored the first goal of the Chairboys’ 2020/21 season, against Brentford in the Carabao Cup. He was deployed consistently throughout, setting up one against both Preston and Huddersfield Town.

Daryl has also represented the Republic of Ireland 14 times, with his debut coming in March 2017 against Iceland. Following some promising performances including in the 3-0 loss to England, he scored one and set one up in a 4-1 victory over Andorra in March 2021.
