Former Fulham, Brighton and Birmingham keeper Stockdale signed a new one-year deal in May 2021 after impressing in the second half of Wycombe’s 2020/21 Championship season, keeping eight clean sheets.

After helping Brighton reach the top flight in 2017 and being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year, the ex-Darlington and York man struggled for first-team opportunities at St Andrews and after impressing in two appearances in 2018/19, he returned to Adams Park permanently. Joining League Two club Stevenage as a temporary injury loan in February 2021, Stockdale provided an assist in his first start, and saved a 90th minute penalty in his last match of the two-week spell.

Following an injury to Ryan Allsop, Stockdale returned to Adams Park and went on to secure his place in the starting-eleven, keeping eight clean sheets and earning another year with the Chairboys in the process.
