Creative forward Alex Samuel joined the Chairboys on a free transfer in August 2018, after impressing on trial that summer.
Samuel made his breakthrough in the Swansea City academy in 2012 following a stint at Aberystwyth Town, spending time on loan in Scotland with Greenock Morton before winning a Player of the Year prize at Newport County despite having only joined in January.
Those exploits earned him a move to Stevenage in 2017, where he impressed playing against the Chairboys, and he took his opportunity whilst working under Gareth Ainsworth, earning a contract until 2021 and being named Young Player of the Year in 2018/19.
As the 2019/20 season came to an end, Samuel scored in the play-off semi-final first-leg meeting against Fleetwood Town making the score 4-1 and found a place in the centre forward role in the remaining games.
