Stewart was a product of the club’s youth system, signing his first professional contract in 2011, making his full debut the following year.

After a tough season helping Wycombe retain their place in the Football League in 2014, Stewart left for Crewe Alexandra, returning a year later and forming a defensive dream team with Aaron Pierre, boasting the second-best defensive record in League Two that season.

Stewart went from strength to strength alongside the side more generally and was part of both the promotion-winning squad in 2017/18 and the side that survived League 1 during the 2018/19 season.

The 2020 play-off final against Oxford saw Stewart bag the Man of the Match award, both scoring and producing a goal-saving tackle, and seeing Wycombe progress to the Championship.

After extending his contract ahead of the 2020/21 season, Stewart was a key player in the Chairboys’ defense, and despite an injury mid-way through the year, his return to the fray helped the side finish the season on an upward trajectory.
