Wycombe Wanderers vs Sunderland
Saturday 8th January 2022 (KO 12:30pm)
Adams Park
Referee: Charles Brakespear
Match Sponsor: Troo Energy
Charity Partner: Prostate Cancer UK

The Chairboys return to Adams Park for their first home match of 2022 and it's set to be a bumper crowd as they welcome Sunderland in League One.

The reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light saw the Black Cats come away with three points, as a late consolation goal from David Wheeler was only enough to lessen the deficit and make it 3-1 to the hosts.

Gareth Ainsworth, who is back in the camp after missing two games through COVID isolation, will be hoping that his side can replicate their recent 1-0 success away at Charlton in order to keep up the pressure at the top of a hotly contested League One.

Despite the murmurings of COVID absences, Lee Johnson's Sunderland come into Saturday's fixture off the back of a 5-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday in which Ross Stewart netted a hattrick to take his tally in the league to 15.

Ticket News
Tickets are available to purchase online all the way up until kick-off, or can be purchased on the day at Ticket Office 1 at Adams Park.

If you hadn't heard, car parking at Adams Park is sold out, with no spaces available on the day. Please do not arrive at Adams Park in a car unless you have pre-booked parking, as you will be turned away.

Roadworks on the A40 between Plomer Hill and the Pastures Traffic lights have started today and will run for the next 22 weeks. There are also roadworks on New Road at the bottom of the hill that end on the 10th of January. There are also roadworks that end today on Desborough Avenue at the Suffield Road Junction, however further up the hill, a new set of roadworks have started today that continue until January 12th.

Park and ride from West Wycombe
Motts Travel will operate three 30-seater minibuses, departing Cowleaze Field in West Wycombe every 15 minutes between 10.15am and 12.15pm, and dropping off passengers at the end of Hillbottom Road.

The shuttle services for the return journey will be available to board from 2.15pm, and continue as required.

The first shuttles (the inbound 10.15am service, and outbound 2.15pm service) will drop off and pick up outside the Adams Park gates. All subsequent shuttles will drop off and pick up at the end of Hillbottom Road, due to traffic along the road to the stadium.

The park and ride service is priced at £5 per vehicle, cash only.

Bus service from High Wycombe rail station
The service will run with one 70-seater vehicle departing the rail station (bay X3) at 10.30am, 11am and 11.30am, heading direct to Adams Park with no stops. Fares are charged at £3.

Return journeys will run from 2.45pm and 3.15pm.

It is intended that the services will drop off and pick up outside the Adams Park gates, but it's likely that local traffic may require passengers to disembark at the Hillbottom Road roundabout to enable the bus to begin its return journey to the station for the next service.

Covid-19 protocols
With the stadium's capacity being less than 10,000, there is currently no requirement for fans to show proof of double vaccination or a negative lateral flow test, apart from those entering hospitality lounges (Caledonian Suite not included). The club advises that fans wear face masks and adhere to social distancing measures in crowded areas such as concourses, turnstiles, the shop and reception. Please maintain social distancing from the players at all times, particularly when they are walking to and from the Players and Officials entrance.

Food and drink
Hellfire BBQ will be open from 10am on Saturday with a breakfast themed menu - smoked bacon baps, smoked sausage baps and vegan sausage baps all available. The classic menu including burgers, pulled pork and all the favourites will be available from half-time onwards.

Funky Elephant will be in the away village, serving Caribbean fusion and street food.

One Can Trust
The One Can Trust collection point will be in operation as usual; please drop off tinned food items for local families in crisis.

Man in the middle
Charles Brakespear is the man in charge on Saturday, making this his 23rd game across the League One, League Two the EFL Trophy and Cup and FA Cup. In the previous 22 games, he's dished out 100 yellow cards, only the 1 red and 3 penalties.

In his refereeing career, he's looked after 15 Wycombe games, overseeing 9 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses.
