The Big Match Preview: Bolton Wanderers vs Wycombe

Ticket news and more...

11 January 2022

After a postponed fixture last month, the Chairboys will be looking to secure three points during a tough January schedule.

Bolton Wanderers vs Wycombe Wanderers
Tuesday 11th January 2022 (KO 8pm)
University of Bolton Stadium
Referee: Peter Wright

Saturday's dramatic draw with Sunderland at Adams Park will be a tough act to follow, as a 90+8' goal from Jacobson brought things level to 3-3 against the fellow promotion chasers. Gareth Ainsworth will be hoping that his side can show the same fight in what will be a different challenge at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The previous encounter between the two Wanderers at Adams Park in November saw the Chairboys secure all three points in a tighly-contested match - Sam Vokes scoring the decisive goal in the 72nd minute.

Ian Evatt's Bolton will be hoping to bounce back after three straight league defeats which saw them beaten by leaders Rotherham, Accrington Stanley and Fleetwood, while their most recent game came in the form of a 1-0 loss to Hartlepool in the Football League Trophy.

Ticket News

Bolton have informed the club that this is an all-ticket match. Away supporters must purchase their ticket in advance before 12pm midday on Tuesday 11th January.

Any uncollected tickets will be taken to Bolton for collection at the stadium from 6.30pm on the night but there may be queues, so please arrive in plenty of time.

Man in the Middle

Peter Wright has refereed 21 matches so far this season across League One, League Two, the EFL Trophy and Cup and the FA Cup. In those matches, he's dished out 64 yellows, 2 reds and 5 penalties.

Wright has only refereed one Wycombe game previously - the 2-1 Chairboys win against Charlton at Adams Park earlier this season.

Wycombe will wear their famous blue quarters along with the pink goalkeeper strip.
