Video Highlights: Women's U18s notch another double-digit win

A successful morning of football in difficult conditions.

9 January 2022

The Chairgirls continued their league dominance in style with a double digit win over Winnersh.

The opening stages of the game saw Wycombe settle much quicker out of the two sides and their dominance didn’t take long to show.

On ten minutes, Jess Fuller’s shot wide right was stopped by the keeper, parrying the ball onto the feet of onwards rushing Naomi Tilley who was able to open the scoring. 1-0.

On 15 minutes, Naomi Tilley's effort paid off who’s cross found Molly Carter who squared the ball to Jess Fuller whose first-time shot hit the back of the Winnersh net. 2-0.

After 20 minutes Wycombe made four subs. Jess Gomes immediately imposed herself amongst her opponents with some skilful touches and on thirty minutes made some space for herself before smashing the ball against the cross bar. The rebound kindly bounced back directly into her path where she was able to compose herself and slide the ball pass the advancing keeper. 3-0 to Wycombe.

Amelia Gilbert replaced Naomi Tilley and didn’t let up on the previous players efforts. Amelia Gilbert’s shot from 25 yards fell awkwardly for the Winnersh keeper who once against prevented another goal but unfortunately couldn’t keep hold of the ball, allowing Molly Carter to slot home from close range.

Half time: Wycombe Wanderers 4-0 Winnersh Rangers

The weather worsened for the second half but the Chairgirls continued to dominate. Within a couple of minutes of the restart Amelia Gilbert started where she left off and her strong work down the left flank paid off, with her cross finding the feet of Jess Gomes who struck the ball on a half volley into the net from 15 yards. 5-0.

On 50 minutes, an identical move and cross from Amelia Gilbert this time found the feet of Jess Fuller who hit her shot across the face of the goal into the side netting leaving the Winnersh keeper little chance. 6-0 to the Chairgirls.

On 55 minutes a ball was neatly slid behind the Winnersh right back and Amelia Gilbert fed the ball to Jess Gomes to slot the ball home to make it seven.

Wycombe continued tp push on, despite the heavy pitch, and on 59 minutes the ball was fed to Jorja-Louise Bray along the right wing whose driving run and powerful cross was delightfully delivered at the feet of Molly Carter - timing her run to perfection and tucking the ball into the net. 8-0 to the Chairgirls.

In the 60th minute Jorja-Louise Bray’s corner was wonderfully floated into the box where it was met with a well-timed run and header from Amelia Gilbert. 9-0.

Molly Carter weaved her magic on the edge of the box to slot the ball home from outside the box to make it 10 with 25 minutes still on the clock.

Naomi Tilley came on for the relentless Amelia Gilbert and on 70 minutes her quick footwork and toe poked pass to Molly Carter in the box was neatly volleyed home from 6 yards. 11-0.

Winnersh refused to give up throughout this match and did their upmost to stop the onrushing Molly Carter who now had a thirst for goals. She went round two defenders before smashing the ball left footed past the Winnersh keeper. 12-0 to the Chairgirls who look forward to being hosted by today's opponents in next weeks Berks and Bucks Cup Semi-Final.
