MK Dons vs Wycombe Wanderers
Saturday 25th September 2021 (KO 3pm)
Stadium MK
Referee: Scott Oldham

After a tough yet memorable night up at the Etihad taking on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, the Chairboys will be looking to bounce back into the League One competition which Gareth Ainsworth has described as his ‘bread and butter’.

It’s a short journey up to MK Dons on Saturday to take on Liam Manning’s side. MK have started strongly in the league, sitting third in the table with 15 points from eight games but the Chairboys have a game in hand.

MK Dons come into the fixture off the back of a dominant 4-1 away victory against a ten-man Gillingham and will be looking to continue their strong run of form.

Team news
Gareth Ainsworth will be pleased with the squad he has at his disposal. Jason McCarthy returned to the starting XI against Manchester City, as did Dominic Gape following a long absence due to injury. Anis Mehmeti has served his three-game suspension and will be back in contention for Saturday.

David Wheeler, who made 19 appearances and scored 4 goals for MK Dons while on loan in 2019, may also feature against his former side.

Liam Manning is unlikely to make many changes after a dominant victory at the weekend, however there may be some returning players. Both David Kasumu and Mo Eisa returned to training with MK last week but didn’t feature against Gillingham.

Referee Scott Oldham has refereed nine games so far this season, handing out 19 yellow cards as well as a red during those fixtures. Oldham has overseen three Wycombe games over the years, all of which were wins for the Chairboys.
