Stewart's red card rescinded

Defender was wrongfully dismissed at MK.

27 September 2021

Wycombe Wanderers have successfully won an appeal against Anthony Stewart's red card in Saturday's fixture with MK Dons, and the defender will therefore be available for Tuesday's trip to Shrewsbury.

Stewart was wrongfully dismissed by referee Scott Oldham in the 39th minute, with MK going on to win the match 1-0.

The FA's statement reads: "Wycombe Wanderers FC’s Anthony Stewart will be available for their next game following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal.

"The defender was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity against Milton Keynes Dons FC in the EFL League One on Saturday [25/09/21] but his suspension has now been removed by an independent Regulatory Commission."
