The Chairgirls U18s took on Maidenhead Ravens at the weekend, coming away with another three points to keep their 100% win record intact.
The first 20 minutes saw plenty of enthusiasm from both sides. The Chairgirls were keen to continue their strong form from previous matches with excellent passing and movement but it took a while to show any real dominance over the visiting team.
Molly Carter opened the scoring with a good finish from close range with an assist from Char Hill. The girls seemed to settle into a rhythm thereafter and began to show the skills homed in training.
Manasi Athwal, Chloe Mackay, George Price and Vic Collett worked hard in defence to protect any purges into our half but they had a quieter day as Maidenhead struggled to keep possession.
A solid midfield slightly different to last weeks starting line up began to settle into their regular tempo with Amelia Sage, Lenis Cook, Char, Dordy and Naomi Tilley firing the shots on the maidenhead goal from afar with regularity.
The introduction of the Jess (Gomes and Fuller) duo into the match worked closely on the edge of the maidenhead box to set up the chair girls 2nd goal with a sharp finish from Jess Gomes scoring the first of 4 on her debut! . At half time the Chairgirls were leading by 2-0, a reflection of the possession they had had during the first 45 minutes.
The start of the Second half saw a lovely cross from Char which was aided into the net by the Maidenhead GK.
The goals then came in quick succession. Jess G scoring 2 more.
Brooke Sanders added to her goal tally to make it 6.
The play was mostly happening at the Maidenhead end for the remainder of the match giving Naomi the opportunity to add to her score sheet from last week by delivery 3 more goals from working through her runs from midfield. Her final goal taking the Chairgirls into double figures.
Another clean sheet with goalkeeper Manasi standing strong in defence.
