Report: Women's U18s defeat Sandhurst 13-0

See the goals go in as the Chairgirls kick off the season in style.

5 September 2021

The newly formed U18 team started the 2021/22 season at Lane End, taking on Sandhurst Town.

A large crowd turned out at Lane End on Saturday to watch the newly formed U18 team's opening league game. This team is managed by Christian Price who brought across many players from triple cup winning Marlow U16 team, merging them seamlessly with other recruits from other local clubs.

Sandhurst turned out with their bare 11 squad due to COVID but looked determined. Wycombe dominated possession from the get-go and created lots of opportunities with a handful of corner kicks that went unconverted.  The ball bounced off the woodwork a few times and it was only a matter of time before Wycombe found their stride and overpowered a depleted Sandhurst, who only made it through the Wycombe defence a couple of times and were unable to cause any real issues.

A frustrated Sandhurst suffered an injury after 20 minutes. At the same time, Ruby Paish entered the fray and with a great through ball from her strong midfield players, wrote her name on the score sheet with her first debut for Wycombe.  It wasn’t long before she repeated the same sort of run, catching Sandhurst defence still trying to rearrange their team and finding the back of the net again.

The second half served up more of the same with the Chairgirls making nearly every ball theirs and playing some beautiful football.   A depleted Sandhurst then suffered another 11-goal assault from Jorja-Louise Bray (4), Brooke Sanders (5), Molly Carter (1) and Amelia Sage (1).  A successful opening performance to the season.
