Former PSG youth captain joins the Chairboys

Jean-Baptiste Fischer is a Wanderer!

17 September 2021

Wanderers have captured a former Paris-Saint Germain and Georgetown University starlet – midfielder Jean-Baptiste Fischer – following a successful trial with the club.

The 23-year-old developed through the academy at hometown club PSG, joining at the age of eight and spending many years as captain before leaving 11 years later to undertake an International Business degree at Georgetown University in the States, helping the football team win the National Championship in 2019 and three other league titles.

He moved to the UK to study at Swansea University in September 2020 and also trained with Swansea City Under-23s last season, before linking up with the Chairboys at the start of the current campaign and impressing in the recent practice match against Maidenhead.

Development squad coach Sam Grace said: “JB has taken his chance during his trial with us and showed a lot of talent in breaking up play as well as creating from midfield.

“He comes on board this week, alongside Adam Leathers, giving us two more young players who have a lot of potential and we’re looking forward to seeing how they progress.”
