Wycombe Wanderers vs Charlton Athletic
Saturday 18th September 2021, KO 3pm
Sky Bet League 1
Referee: Peter Wright
The Chairboys return to Adams Park after nearly a month away with the club's first Wonder of Wycombe fixture! Pyrotechnics, giveaways, retro shirts, local food and beer... it promises to be a fantastic homecoming.
Gareth Ainsworth's side come into the game against Charlton after a goalless draw against Oxford United saw the teams share the points, with Anthony Stewart and Ryan Tafazolli providing standout performances at the back to keep things level.
The Addicks have a strong record against the Chairboys, winning six out of their seven meetings, but have undergone widespread changes since the last meeting in April 2019, both on and off the pitch.
Their start to the season has been a tumultuous one, picking up just the three points from their last five games and sitting 20th in the League One table.
Gareth Ainsworth will have a near full squad available for selection as Jason McCarthy returned to the bench last weekend, and Dominic Gape looks close to return. Anis Mehmeti remains unavailable for selection as he serves the second of his three-match suspension.
The Addicks have a number of players out, with Jake Forster-Caskey, Ryan Inniss and Ronnie Schwartz unavailable due to injury. Ben Purrington, Sean Clare and Alex Gilbey could all make a return to the squad after training this week.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or on the day at Ticket Office 1 (cashless only). The Wonder of Wycombe package is also still available to purchase, which gives fans access to our biggest matches of the season, including the Charlton game.
