After a positive showing against a tough Chesham United side, the Chairgirls will be looking to bounce back in style in the FA Cup on Sunday.

An exciting weekend awaits Wycombe Wanderers Women as they travel to Herne Bay FC in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Women’s Vitality FA Cup. The Chairgirls have reached this stage for the second time in the past 3 seasons and are looking to progress to the 1st round of the competition for the first time in the club’s history.

Herne Bay sit third in their division of the London and South East Regional League and beat Dulwich Hamlet from the division above them in the last round on penalties. Wycombe beat London Sport E Benfica from the same league in the last round 3-0. Whilst Wycombe have not had the best of starts to the season, there is every reason to be optimistic for the game ahead as the last time they had such a slow start, progress in the FA Cup was good and helped the players find their form to then carry into the league.

Wycombe have an injury concern with skipper, Katie Hudson, hoping to recover from an ankle problem incurred in last weekend’s Berks and Bucks Women’s cup defeat v Chesham where she was forced off just before half-time. Apart from that, manager Dave Ward will have a full squad to select from.
