The young Chairgirls put right a heavy defeat earlier in the season.

The Chairgirls travelled to unbeaten league leaders Bletchley Shamrocks on Sunday. With a depleted squad and memories of a 5-0 loss to this team in the first game of the season, they knew it was going to be tough.

It was the away team that started the brighter. Shutting down quickly and attacking in numbers, the opening 20 minutes saw the Chairgirls hit the post and the crossbar, have a very good effort from striker Brook Sanders saved and a long-range free kick from Sally Grimm go just over.

Despite their efforts Wycombe were 1-0 down in the 25th minute, having been hit on the counterattack, they were short at the back and keeper Lillie Eames could not prevent the ball from hitting the back of the net.

Wycombe continued to attack with some great link-up play and one-touch football and were unlucky to go in at half time behind.

Half-time: Bletchley Shamrocks 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers Reserves

The second half started much the same as the first and Wycombe were rewarded for their efforts in the 60th minute when winger Naomi Tilly took on two defenders before shooting past the Bletchley keeper to even the scores.

The remainder of the game was very open, end-to-end football, with both sides having chances. Bletchley shot just wide, had a corner miss everyone on its way through the box and have a great curling effort saved by Eames. Wycombe had a great long-range effort from Sanders hit the cross bar, shots from Grimm and Amelia Gilbert saved and an effort from Tilley stopped on the line by the Bletchley keeper just before Amy Norfolk could tap home the follow up.

A fantastic effort from the girls in what proved to be a very entertaining game.
