Plymouth Argyle vs Wycombe Wanderers
Tuesday 23rd November 2021 (KO 7:45pm)
Home Park
Referee: Alan Young

The Chairboys make the long trip West to take on League leaders Plymouth Argyle, with just two points separating the sides, in what looks set to be a showstopping fixture.

After a disappointing few results against Hartlepool in the FA Cup and Portsmouth in League One, Wycombe returned to winning ways on Saturday, overcoming Bolton Wanderers at Adams Park to secure all three points.

Despite the win, Gareth Ainsworth’s side will be looking to increase their conversion rate in front of goal, as the  woodwork has been problematic recently - only Fulham have hit the post more times this season in the top four tiers - 12 to Wycombe’s 10.

In contrast, Plymouth’s sparkling run of form came to an abrupt end at the weekend as a newly revived Charlton Athletic beat the Pilgrims 2-0 at The Valley.

Wycombe and Plymouth have a very balanced head-to-head record, with the Chairboys edging the Pilgrims by winning ten of the encounters, drawing nine and losing nine. With so few points dividing the sides so far this season, and a history of close matches, Tuesday’s clash is one that both teams will be eager to win.

Tickets

Tickets are no longer available to purchase online or at Adams Park, however, they can be purchased on the day at Plymouth. If you have already secured tickets, you can collect them at Adams Park until 12pm on Tuesday, after which they will be taken to Plymouth for collection at Home Park.

Please note that when purchasing tickets on the day, they are subject to a £2 price increase.

Information for visiting fans

Plymouth have provided a comprehensive first time fan guide with information on travel, food and drink, as well as activities at the ground. This can all be found here.

Man in the middle

Referee Alan Young has made just five appearances this season across the EFL Trophy, League Two, the FA Cup and the U18 Premier League. During those appearances, he’s awarded 25 yellow cards, one red and three penalties.

Young has refereed just the three Wycombe fixtures, and not seen the Chairboys lose - overseeing a win and two draws.
