SiSU Health Station new addition to Caledonian Suite

Check your statistics for free in partnership with SiSU this Men's Health Month.

13 November 2021

Wycombe have teamed up with SiSU Health as part of Men’s Health Month in order to provide quick and easy statistical testing with their screening machine, currently located in the Caledonian Suite.

SiSU Health are a nationwide healthcare company that provide evidence-based programs and services to measure and improve customer's health. The automated health kiosks can measure blood pressure, BMI, body fat, heart rate and stress, plus a few other self-reported elements. The machine will be available to use in the Caledonian Suite (free entry) throughout the month of November. With 5 home games this month and the NHS using the lounge for the vaccination booster programme, we hope to see as many fans using the machine as possible.

Below are some stats about men’s health that underline the need for regular health checks:

  • Men aged 20-40 are half as likely to visit their GP, compared with women.
  • Heart disease is the leading cause of male death in the UK.
  • High blood pressure is the third biggest risk factor for all disease after smoking and poor diet.
  • 31% of men in England have high blood pressure.
  • Half of men with high blood pressure are undiagnosed.
  • Men are more likely to develop cardiovascular disease at an earlier age.
  • Men are more likely than women to be overweight or obese (68.2% of men, 60.4% of women).
  • Men aged 45-74 are most likely to be overweight or obese.
  • 1 in 8 men and 1 in 15 women die from coronary heart disease.

A huge thanks to SiSU Health for their help in this initiative.
