Report: Women's First team struggle against Moneyfields

Another tough loss for a battling Chairgirls side.

1 November 2021

Wycombe started brightly, looking organised in defence and breaking together as a unit on the counter attack. Moneyfields had more possession but Wycombe did well in controlling the areas of the pitch they were allowed to play in, in order to limit opportunities for the away side pushing forward.

This was pretty much the story of the first half and although a draw at this stage would of been fair, unfortunately individual errors meant Moneyfields went into halftime three goals to the good without Wycombe really being able to create anything clear cut themselves.

Half time: Wycombe 0-3 Moneyfields

Wycombe combined well and created several of their own chances and were unlucky a few times not to put the ball in back of the net thanks to some very sound saves by the Moneyfields keeper in one-on-one situations.

Already missing a couple players and then suffering a few injuries mid-game made the second half more difficult and a strong Moneyfields side were able to capitalise on that, putting the ball in the back of the net twice more.

Wycombe showed great heart and never gave up despite difficult circumstances against them, in what was a spirited display. Unfortunately the Chairgirls left with nothing to show for it at the final whistle.

Full time: Wycombe 0-5 Moneyfields

The Chairgirls First team continue to search for their first win of the season as they travel to Ascot United in the Southern Region Women's Football League Premier on Sunday 7th November for a 2pm KO.
