Gareth Ainsworth has picked up the LMA Performance of the Week award, in recognition of the Blues' stunning comeback win at Huddersfield last weekend.
Wanderers trailed 2-0 to the Terriers but turned the game on its head thanks to goals from Anis Mehmeti, Joe Jacobson and Josh Knight, earning an important 3-2 victory at the John Smith's Stadium.
The League Managers Association (LMA) panel, comprising Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Ince, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry, Joe Royle and Rachel Yankey, selected Ainsworth as the worthy winner and the boss's shield and champagne - courtesy of Tanners Wines - landed safely at the training ground on Friday morning.
“Even at 2-0 down, I believed that we had what it takes to turn it around and we did really well to keep our composure, make a few tactical changes and take the game to Huddersfield.
“The goals we scored came as the result of some excellent attacking play, and the boys put their bodies on the line at the end to see out the result as well, so overall I was really pleased and it was an important win on the road for us.
“Thank you to the LMA panel for selecting us as the winner of this award.”
