Volunteers thanked at EFL Season Launch event

Gareth Ainsworth, Rob Couhig and Missy Couhig make special presentation.

4 August 2021

Wanderers marked EFL Season Launch day on Tuesday by inviting two groups of volunteers to Adams Park for a drinks reception with Gareth Ainsworth, Rob Couhig and Missy Couhig, as a show of appreciation for their tireless work to prepare the stadium and training ground for the new season.

A volunteer squad headed up by Alan Hodgson, plus a team of grounds staff who have helped with watering the training ground pitches, were brought together for a chat and a drink with the manager and directors, and each presented with a coaching top bearing their name or initials.

The weekday team of Alan Hodgson, Margaret Hodgson, Lisa Bowker, Dave Goulding, Justin Hyams, Dave Stephenson, Trefor Williams, John Bartlett and John Spicer have put in more than 2,000 hours of work between them since March, contributing to jobs such as:

Jetwashing the front of all stands and steps, painting hatched areas in each stand, strimming banks behind the Frank Adams Stand, woodstain and polishing various areas of the buildings, re-decorating the Woodlands Lounge and executive box corridor, cleaning stadium and dugout windows, painting the old Loakes Park gates, strimming at the training ground, painting turnstiles, repairing toilet doors, fitting new buildings at the training ground, decorating hospitality toilets, painting concourse walls, desludging drains, and decorating the manager's office and treatment rooms at the stadium.

We thank all volunteers for their incredible contributions across the club.
