8 September 2020

Anthony Stewart, Joe Jacobson and Nnamdi Ofoborh were the big winners of the 2019/20 player awards, which were presented at the club’s training ground on Tuesday morning.

Defender Stewart received the Players’ Player of the Year prize, having been an ever-present in the promotion-winning side and capping an outstanding season with a goal and Man of the Match-winning performance in the play-off final. Jacobson and Darius Charles were runners-up.

Jacobson landed the Supporters’ Player of the Year award, pipping Stewart and Charles after scoring 12 times from left-back, including a memorable hat-trick of set-pieces against Lincoln in September, and dispatching the crucial penalty that sealed promotion against Oxford at Wembley.

The Goal of the Season prize went to Bournemouth loanee Nnamdi Ofoborh, whose impeccable left-footed drive in the first minute of the play-off semi-final first leg at Fleetwood got the Blues off to the best possible start.
