Exciting winger Daryl Horgan becomes Wanderers’ fifth new signing of the summer, returning to the Championship from Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.
Capped six times by the Republic of Ireland, the 28-year-old spent 18 months previously with Preston North End, catching the eye for the Lilywhites in their 5-1 win at Adams Park in January 2018, and then moved north of the border that summer, becoming a regular in green and white and playing five times already in the new season.
Gareth Ainsworth said: “Daryl is someone we’ve kept an eye on ever since he put in that outstanding performance against us and we believe he’s ideally suited to the way we play. He’s quick, he’s direct, he loves to run at the defence and he’s got a strong goal threat in terms of scoring and creating chances for his team-mates.
“I’m excited to see what he can do for us and his arrival gives us extra firepower going forward as we look forward to starting on the front foot in the Championship in 10 days’ time.”
Horgan started out with Sligo Rovers in Ireland and his form for Cork City and Dundalk prompted Preston to swoop for him in January 2017, and he played 43 times in total for the Championship club outfit.
Daryl will wear number 17 for the Chairboys, and an interview with the new man will follow next week.
