Dominic Gape has delivered the news that Wanderers fans have been hoping to read, putting pen to paper on a new contract which will keep him at Adams Park until 2022.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation in the Wanderers midfield since arriving from Southampton in 2016, initially on a loan deal before making his move permanent in January 2017.
He scored the goal that clinched promotion to League 1 to cement his place in Chairboys folklore, and recently clocked up 150 appearances for the club, earning a new two-year deal.
“I’m delighted that we’ve agreed this new contract with him and I believe he will continue to go from strength to strength for us in this exciting new era at the club.”
Chairman Rob Couhig added: “I am excited to have Dom under an extended contract. He has been and will be important to the club as we seek continued progress on the pitch. I am grateful to Trevor Stroud for continuing to help the club - even on his well-deserved vacation! – and he was instrumental in securing the contract.”
Trevor Stroud, director and former chairman, said: “We have been working on this deal for some time and we’re thrilled to get it over the line. As the Trust pass the baton over to Rob Couhig and his team, I believe the squad is in the strongest shape it has possibly ever been, and are excited for what the future holds for Gareth Ainsworth, his staff and players.”
