Adebayo Akinfenwa has been rewarded for his record-breaking Chairboys achievement with a new Octaspring 9500 mattress and divan base from the club’s front of change shirt sponsor Dormeo.

The mattress specialist, whose head office is based on London Road in High Wycombe, have already recognised Matt Bloomfield’s 500th club appearance and manager Gareth Ainsworth’s 10 years’ service with the gifting of the highly sought-after Octaspring 9500 – the popular choice of the Wanderers squad.

Now they’ve followed suit with a donation to the ‘Beast’ following his 54th goal in Wycombe colours, which takes him above Nathan Tyson into top spot in the goalscoring charts in the club’s EFL era.

Akinfenwa said: “It’s very kind of Dormeo to present me with the Octaspring 9500 mattress and base; the boys have been going on about it for months and it’s about time I got a good night’s sleep too! It’s a real honour for me to break a club record and I’m so grateful to all my team-mates who’ve helped me get there, and the fans who’ve always had my back.”

Mike Pitt, managing director of Dormeo, said: “Everyone at Dormeo was thrilled to see Adebayo break the club record at the weekend, and we loved being in a position to reward him with a great night’s sleep in recognition of the milestone. It’s great to see the team having such a successful season and we’re behind them every step of the way as they enter the final 10 games.”
