The Big Match Preview: Wycombe vs Fleetwood

All you need to know.

6 July 2020

The boys are back in town...

Wycombe Wanderers vs Fleetwood Town
Monday 6th July 2020, (kick off 7.30pm BST)
Adams Park
Referee: Darren Bond

After a weekend of rest, recovery, preparation and contemplation, Wycombe and Fleetwood go into battle again tonight in the second leg of the play-off semi-finals.

Wanderers carry a 4-1 advantage into tonight's match following a magnificent display at Highbury on Friday, and now return to home turf looking to match those efforts in order to secure their place in the final.

Fleetwood were victorious on their last visit to Adams Park, but the goalscorer that night - Paddy Madden - won't be able to contribute tonight due to the red cards that he and right-back Lewie Coyle collected three days ago.

If the scores are level on aggregate after 90 minutes, a period of 30 minutes' extra-time will follow, and then potentially a penalty shoot-out. Away goals do not count double.

Gareth Ainsworth has a fully fit squad to choose from, with no fresh injuries, so every player will be available for selection in what will be a 20-man matchday squad, including nine substitutes.

Fleetwood, too, have reported no new injuries but Paddy Madden and Lewie Coyle are suspended.

The referee is Darren Bond, who has officiated in three Championship games since football resumed, and last took charge of a Wycombe match way back in 2016, when Leyton Orient were 2-0 winners at Adams Park.
