Unsurprisingly Monday night’s incredible victory grabbed the attention of many in the world of football, including Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp.
The recently crowned Premier League champion spoke in his latest press conference about his now viral video exchange with Adebayo Akinfenwa, and was even quizzed by journalists when he planned to join ‘the Beast’ for a celebratory toast!
“When it’s possible in the future! One day! He is invited for the (Liverpool victory) parade, 100%,” said Klopp.
‘Bayo may be disappointed to learn that the German did admit to having a foot in the Oxford camp ahead of kick-off, though Klopp was apparently won around in the end by Wycombe’s fairy tale ending!
"Yesterday before the game I was not 100% a Wycombe or Oxford supporter, but Ben Woodburn plays for Oxford, so I was slightly more on the side of Oxford!
“When they won it, it’s just nice…you see how much it means to them. It meant a lot to the manger last night and to all the players it meant a lot and it was on the other side really hard for the Oxford boys. That’s how football is sometimes. There’s only one winner possible in these type of games. I enjoy these type of stories of course. As a player I was in similar situations….that’s why I always will love this game because you can fulfil your own dreams. If you work really hard, you can make it.”
