Tom Kerridge pies kick off catering improvements at Adams Park

Additional food trucks welcomed into Chairboys Village, while in-stadium kiosks will cease serving hot food at 2.45pm.

17 January 2020

Wycombe Wanderers are excited to introduce a brand-new range of pies provided by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge to Adams Park on matchdays, as part of a host of improvements to its catering offering.

Five different flavours of pies will be available before the game from Ticket Office 2 – next to the Chairboys Village – as well as the Caledonian Suite and Woodlands Lounge, while the club have also welcomed three additional food trucks in the car park, with Barbarian Grill (American street food), Dazzling Events (UK street grill) and Funky Elephant (Caribbean fusion street food) joining the existing Beyond BBQ vegan grill.

In a bid to combat recent issues with long queues at the kiosks inside the stadium, the club have taken the decision to cease selling hot food within the kiosks at 2.45pm, and sell only ‘grab and go’ items during the match, which will include crisps, sweets, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Pete Couhig, chief financial officer at the club, said: “We have real ambitions to offer the best fan experience in the country and are serious about making sure all visitors to the stadium have a great time when they’re with us. We are well aware of our fans’ expectations of a wider range of food options and improved service in all areas of the ground, and these first steps are a sign of what’s to come.

“I have no doubt that Tom Kerridge’s pies will be amongst the best food offering at any football ground in the country; Manchester United are the only other club to offer them. The food trucks give fans extra choices on what to eat, with a lot of vegan and vegetarian options which we were previously short of.

“We know we have had problems with long queues inside the stadium which results in people missing large parts of the match and, as a short-term solution, we have decided to stop selling hot food during the game, which means the process of ordering quick ‘grab and go’ items should be fast and effective. This is a trial for us and we’ll see how it goes.

“Our main message to fans is to eat when you get here, before the game, at lunchtime, and make use of the fantastic options that are available. The Chairboys Village has been a huge success since we launched it in the summer, with Rebellion beer, live music and a great atmosphere which has been generated by our fans, and now they have first-class food to go with it.”
