Gareth earns gift from Dormeo for 10 years' service

No more sleepless nights for the gaffer.

18 February 2020

Wycombe Wanderers’ front of change shirt sponsors Dormeo have celebrated Gareth Ainsworth’s 10th anniversary as a Chairboys hero by rewarding the Blues boss with an Octaspring 9500 mattress and divan base this week.

Ainsworth visited the mattress specialist’s showroom on London Road in High Wycombe to meet staff and select the mattress and base of his choice, in recognition of his recent milestone of clocking up a decade’s service to the football club.

It follows a similar donation to club captain Matt Bloomfield on reaching 500 appearances for the club last spring, and Ainsworth says he is humbled by the generous gesture:

“Dormeo have been fantastic supporters of the club since they came on board in the summer and it means a great deal to us to have this locally based furniture company right behind us. It’s been a great partnership for both parties as I’m told they’ve had plenty of Wycombe fans visiting the showroom and trying out the mattresses, so I’m really pleased that it’s been a successful first season of working together and hopefully there are many more years of this partnership yet to come.”

“I’m hugely grateful to Dormeo for this generous donation in recognition of my anniversary of joining the club. I know many of the players have snapped up the Octaspring 9500 and been raving about what a great night’s sleep they’ve been getting, so it’s about time I see what all the fuss is about because I have some sleepless nights pondering my team selection sometimes, trust me!”

Mike Pitt, managing director of Dormeo, said: “Gareth has done a tremendous job at the club as a player and as a manager, and the least we could do was recognise his contribution to Wycombe Wanderers and the wider community by gifting him his choice of mattress.”

“We’re really pleased to be a sponsor of the club, particularly this season where the team have exceeded expectations and really put the town on the map with some brilliant performances and results to lift them up the table (including some heart-pounding last-minute comebacks). We love having the Wycombe family coming to visit us in the showroom, whether it’s Gareth, the players, staff or supporters, if we’re helping to give them those vital extra minutes of restful sleep and recuperation, then it’s all worthwhile.”

Visit the showroom on London Road in High Wycombe or head online to to browse the range. All Wanderers season ticket holders are eligible for a 15% discount on their order in-store.

And you can meet a handful of players at Dormeo this Thursday; read on!
