Theo the lucky charm!

Young fan's first visit this season brings luck to three players.

25 February 2020

Nine-year-old Theo Pawley was treated to his first Wanderers match of the season on Saturday... and ended up becoming an unwitting lucky charm by having photos taken with the three goalscorers before the game!

Theo came along with his cousin Mason, accompanied by his dad Matthew, who has been following Wycombe since 1987 and had been a season ticket holder for many years with many fond memories of supporting the club over land and sea.

Matthew met his girlfriend (now wife) behind the goal at a Wycombe game, away versus Telford in 1991, has seen Wycombe win and lose at Wembley, seen the club promoted and relegated, and now believes his son will be a lifelong fan after a memorable first visit!

Unable to attend many games due to living and playing football in Reading, the father, son and cousin team arrived at Adams Park for the first time this season for the meeting with Tranmere, and Matthew was able to grab photos and autographs with three players in the car park before the game.

Those three were Anthony Stewart, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Joe Jacobson... and all three went on to find the net in the 3-1 triumph.

Matthew said afterwards: "With Theo still buzzing from the result, I am certain he will be telling his mates how good Wycombe are and how fortunate he was to meet the players, as I know this type of thing does not happen at all clubs."

Theo - you are welcome any time! And don't forget to stop for photos with the boys beforehand...
