Wanderers are thrilled to launch a trial period of accommodating home supporters in the south side of the Lords Builders Merchants Stand – usually reserved for away fans only – at selected matches.
Around 700 seats will be made available for Wanderers fans in Blocks D, E and F at the forthcoming match against Tranmere Rovers at Adams Park on Saturday 22nd February. Prices for these tickets will match those charged to away fans, who will be accommodated on the north side of the stand, with segregation netting in place.
The club particularly intend to invite large group bookings of sports teams, schools and other organisations to make use of this area behind one goal, and display flags and banners to add to the atmosphere. If you represent an organisation that might be interested in benefitting from the club’s group booking scheme in this area of the stadium, please email email@example.com for further details.
Pete Couhig, chief financial officer of the club, said: “Attendances at Adams Park have been increasing throughout the season and we have real ambitions to get this place full and rocking on as many occasions as possible. To help achieve that, we’d love to have Wanderers supporters on all four sides of the ground, and we can do that on certain matchdays when there is availability in one half of the Lords Stand.
“It will be a whole new experience for fans who may have been coming to Adams Park for many years but never had the opportunity to sit behind one goal, with a great view of the action. I know the players hugely appreciate the support they get from the Wycombe fans at each game and now they will be hearing those chants from all four sides!”
Stadium manager Gordon Reilly added: “We are delighted to have received approval from the local authorities to open up a new section of the stadium for our supporters. Rob and Pete Couhig have shown tremendous appetite to improve the matchday experience for everyone and asked us to explore this option for games where the visiting team don’t have demand for the full allocation of tickets.
“We are looking forward to seeing how this trial period goes and hope to see this new section full of Chairboys fans against Tranmere.”
