AFC Bournemouth vs Wycombe Wanderers
Tuesday 15th December 2020, k.o. 7.45pm BST
Vitality Stadium
Sky Bet Championship

Two of the EFL's greatest success stories of the past decade coem head-to-head with Bournemouth looking to take top spot in the Championship, while the Blues seek to avoid slipping to the foot of the table by claiming at least a point to prevent a third successive defeat.

The Cherries appeared doomed to non-league when they were hit by a major points deduction as a League 2 club in the 2008/09 season, but a 3-1 win over Wycombe int he early days of Eddie Howe's tenure proved a catalyst for a great escape. When they met in League 1 in 2011/12, Bournemouth claimed a double and continued their rise all the way to the Premier League, before succumbing to relegation to the second tier in the summer.

New boss Jason Tindall has turned the tide quickly, turning them into a major force in the Championship, and their demolition of Huddersfield at the weekend sees them come into tonight's game full of confidence against a Wycombe side whose second-half improvement at the weekend almost yielded a point against Coventry.

Gareth Ainsworth's men have performed admirably away to high-flying sides in Norwich and Reading already this season, and will need that same resolve and discipline to take down the south coast club under the lights tonight.

Last Time Out
Here are the highlights from Wanderers' 2-1 loss to Coventry:

Meanwhile, Bournemouth hammered Huddersfield:

Team News
Wycombe collected no new injuries at the weekend, with Uche Ikpeazu and Ryan Tafazolli returning to the squad for the warm-up, boosting Gareth Ainsworth's selection options. Ryan Allsop returns to his former club.

Bournemouth welcome Josh King and Diego Rico back to the squad, but Chris Mepham misses out.

Wanderers will be in their mango change strip.

Man in the Middle
Matt Donohue has shown 27 yellow cards and three reds in his 10 games so far this season, and took charge in the 2-0 loss at Nottingham Forest last month.
