'Close Quarters' out today

"An extraordinary season on the brink"

17 August 2020

A book detailing Wanderers' greatest ever season - Close Quarters, by Neil Harman - has been released today, available from a number of online retailers.

Neil was handed behind-the-scenes access throughout the past 12 months in order to write Close Quarters, the inspirational, against-the-odds story of a small football club and how it sustains a nine-month challenge for promotion before the global pandemic stops the team in its tracks.

When the season restarts, Wycombe Wanderers find themselves in the play-offs behind closed doors, an unprecedented opportunity through unprecedented turmoil.

Harman, formerly of the Daily Mail and The Times, was SJA Sports News Reporter of the Year in 2007. He has collaborated with Sir Andy Murray and David Beckham on their stories, and written books including Court Confidential: A Year in Tennis and Gambling for Life, with Harry Findlay, longlisted for the William Hill prize in 2017 and named in the top ten Sunday Times sports books in the same year.
