First Time Fans enjoy winning debut

Youngsters receive certificates from Paul Smyth to mark the occasion.

A group of 16 young supporters attending a Wanderers match for the very first time enjoyed a matchday they won't forget in a hurry at Adams Park on Saturday.

As part of the club's Fan Appreciation Day - on the closest matchday to the anniversary of its first ever match on 24th September 1887 - the Chairboys laid on a VIP experience for any youngster visiting the stadium for the first time, giving them the opportunity to walk out through the tunnel, observe the warm-up from pitchside, and receive a certificate and a medal to mark the occasion.

Yusuf, Taylor, Dexter, Maisie, Jasmine, Zac, Theo, Dylan, Mae, Daisy, Lucy, Alex, Daniel, Ben, Owen and Ethan collected their certificates from Wanderers star Paul Smyth before returning to their seats to enjoy Wycombe's superb 1-0 victory over Portsmouth, with Adebayo Akinfenwa scoring the winning goal.

Paul Smyth said: "It was really nice to see the kids' faces as they walked out on to the pitch and saw the stadium for the first time. It seemed to be a proud moment for the parents to see their excitement at being up close to the boys during the warm-up and receiving their certificates, and it's even better that the team were able to get the win to make sure they all went home happy. I loved meeting them all and hope to see them back here for another game in the near future."
