Ladies under-18s collect 3-1 win

Wycombe Ladies Under 18s 3-1 Barton United U18s.

5 October 2019

Hollie Carter secured all three points for Wycombe Wanderers U18s in a fine performance that also saw Ki Fryer bag her first goal for the club.

Barton United took the lead after 34 seconds after a long ball caught the Blues defence off guard and the onrushing Lillie Eames in the Wycombe goal was helpless as the ball was slotted home. Thankfully for the home side this didn't seem to set a precedent as midway through the first half, Wycombe took control of the match and didn't look back.

After putting pressure on the Barton United defence for some time, a cross was turned in to their own goal to draw the Blues level at 1-1. Shortly after this, great work by Louise Tiller and debutant Izzy Hughes released Fryer who sprinted 30 yards before smashing the ball past the onrushing keeper to spark huge celebrations just before half time.

The game was put to bed after a fine passing move led to Hughes providing another assist, this time for Carter as she grabbed her first goal of the season to round off what was a thoroughly professional second half performance.

Next up for Wycombe Wanderers Ladies U18s is a home match vs City Belles U18s at ASM Stadium, Thame.
