Club to support Poppy Appeal on Saturday

High Wycombe branch of Royal British Legion return to Adams Park.

28 October 2019

Wanderers’ League 1 fixture with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 2nd November at Adams Park will see the club support the High Wycombe branch of the Royal British Legion, being the closest home fixture to Remembrance Weekend.

Continuing a long-standing tradition of welcoming the Legion to Adams Park ahead of the Armistice Day anniversary, the club have invited High Wycombe Sea Cadets and 332 (High Wycombe) Squadron Air Training Corps to sell poppies to both sets of supporters before kick-off.

There’ll be a special Remembrance coin used for the coin toss, and both the Chairman of the District Council, Cllr Paul Turner, and the Mayor of High Wycombe, Cllr Maz Hussain, will join club representatives on the pitch at half-time for a short ceremony.

Members of the armed forces are able to secure tickets for this match via the Tickets for Troops initiative.
