Gerrards Cross CE School set for Wembley showdown

Kids Cup glory is one win away.

22 May 2019

A local school team representing Wycombe Wanderers will battle it out for the Kids Cup at Wembley Stadium ahead of the League 1 play-off final on Sunday afternoon.

Gerrards Cross CE School overcame sides representing Luton Town and Southend United along the road to Wembley, where they'll meet Leighswood of Walsall.

The EFL Kids Cup is a national tournament for junior footballers, offering children the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play at Wembley.

More than 16,000 children take part, creating one of the country's largest national football competitions. It comprises a six-a-side competition for under-11 schoolchildren, starting out at a local level in the group stages, run by the Sports & Education Trust of each participating football club.

Gerrards Cross CE School beat Danesfield in Wanderers' local final, progressing to the area stages against Luton and Southend, and are now one win away from glory underneath the Wembley arch.

Everyone at Wycombe Wanderers sends their best wishes to Gerrards Cross CE School for Sunday's final!
