Chairgirls development team handed First Division place

Club will have teams in the top two divisions of the SRWFL.

11 July 2019

Wycombe Wanderers Ladies' newly-formed development team have been accepted into the First Southern Division of the Southern Region Women's Football League for the 2019/20 season.

Created to bridge the gap between youth and senior levels of the local women's game, the development team will play their football in the division recently vacated by the first team, who were successful in achieving promotion to the Premier Division.

David Roberton, the Wycombe Wanderers Trust director responsible for overseeing the ladies' setup, said: "This is more great news for the club and its ongoing plan to become a real centre of excellence in the region for the women's game.

"Having a first team, development team and under-18s team will help build on the legacy of the recent World Cup and promote participation and player development through creating the right environment for training, coaching and playing."

To strengthen the three squads ahead of the new campaign, the club are looking for new players and welcome applications via email to emma_newberry@hotmail.co.uk. The first pre-season training session takes place on Sunday 14th July from 10am to 12pm, at the Wycombe Wanderers training ground in Booker.
