Using the car? These are the recommended road directions
Take the westbound M40 to Junction 10 and follow A43 towards Northampton to pick up northbound M1. Leave the M1 at Junction 37 and take the A628 towards Barnsley. Stay on this road (the ground is well signposted) and you will eventually see the ground on your right.

Mileage from High Wycombe = 171 (approx. journey time 2 hours 50 minutes)

Recommended area for car parking
Between Oakwell Stadium and the Barnsley Metrodome is a car park for visiting supporters, called the Queens Ground, which costs £5 for Cars (£20 for Coaches). This is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the stadium. SATNAV: S71 1AN

Travelling by coach?
OWWSA will be running a coach that will leave Adams Park at 09.30. Travel prices are £22 for adults, £21 for seniors, and £20 for juniors. The price for on-members is £27 (no refund if game is cancelled and the coaches have left their depot). If you wish to book by phone (Rena 01494 520179, Graham 07876 267301) or by e-mail (bookings@owwsa.co.uk) you need to do so by Thursday 14th February at 5pm. If booking by email please make sure you receive an acknowledgment.

Using the train?
Please note that there is Industrial Action planned to affect Northern Services on this day. Barnsley Interchange is roughly a ten-minute walk away from Oakwell Stadium. The station is served by trains running between Sheffield and Leeds. From the interchange turn left away from the town centre and head towards and then under the bridge that the dual-carriageway runs over. Once under the bridge, cross the road carefully, then turn left up the slip road and then take the first road on the right and head towards the Metrodome leisure complex at the top of the hill. Oakwell is now clearly visible.

Facilities for away fans
The ground capacity is 23,287 (all seated). The away supporters’ section of Oakwell is located in the North Stand. This is clearly signposted and is sponsored by club partner, Palmer Construction. This stand was previously an open terrace but is now a single tier, covered stand, opened in 1999. The facilities and view of the playing action are generally good. The concourse is of a fair size and the acoustics of the stand are pretty good.

Spare time on your hands?
The Metrodome is a designated ‘away’ supporters’ venue, serving food and drink right up to kick off, and is a mere five-minute walk away from Oakwell. Another option is “The Dove Inn” on Doncaster Road. This is only a five-minute walk away down Oakwell Lane and usually has a mixture of home and away fans. The “Barnsley East Dene Working Men’s Club” on Doncaster Road is usually happy to admit visiting supporters for a small donation. You can also leave your car there (charge made). This club is about a ten-minute walk away. Finally, the “Harbour Hills Working Men’s Club” on Vernon Street also usually admits visiting supporters.
