Wycombe Wanderers vs Gillingham
Saturday 23rd February 2019, k.o. 3pm
Adams Park
Referee: Carl Boyeson
Match Sponsor: Haines Watts

Gillingham make their first visit to Adams Park for six-and-a-half years with both sides feeling the effects of taking on the biggest sides in the division - and falling just short.

Wycombe's back-to-back defeats at leaders Luton and second-placed Barnsley saw them compete for long periods but ultimately come away empty-handed, while the Gills twice levelled the scores at Sunderland in midweek but succumbed to a 4-2 loss, unable to build momentum from the much-needed 1-0 win over Scunthorpe a week ago.

It leaves the Kent club 17th in the table, three points above the drop zone and seven behind the Chairboys, who aren't far from reaching their primary target of ensuring survival in the division, but are keen to finish the year strongly and potentially achieve their highest finish this century.

It was a 2-2 draw when the sides met in the reverse fixture in December, with the league's joint-third top scorer Tom Eaves on target for the Gills, but they'll know all about the predatory instincts of the man at the other end of the pitch - Adebayo Akinfenwa - who could face the team he scored 21 goals for over two spells earlier in his career.

Team news
Adam El-Abd is suspended after picking up a red card last weekend, while Luke Bolton has been assessed throughout the week after leaving the field at Oakwell with an injury. There are no other new concerns, with Darius Charles and Yves Ma-Kalambay the longer-term absentees.

Gillingham are adapting to the loss of experienced defender Gabriel Zakuani to injury, with Connor Ogilvie having covered at centre-half in recent games, while Billy Bingham could return to the midfield after a knock. Alex Lacey and Ricky Holmes are expected to be out, though.

Chairboys fans can benefit from a £2 discount when they book before 5pm on Friday; click here for all the details including prices and how to book.

Tickets can be purchased on arrival, from Ticket Office 1, or cash turnstiles to the terrace and away stand.

Pre-booked tickets can be collected from the blue pod outside Ticket Office 1.
