Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust are pleased to announce that they are on the look-out for up to 30 keen cyclists to take part in the WWSET Charity Bike Ride 2020.
The hardy bunch who sign up for the ride and to raise funds for WWSET will depart Adams Park Stadium on Thursday 30th April for a 260 mile cycle scheduled to finish at Wham Stadium, the home of Accrington Stanley, in time to watch Wycombe Wanderers final game of the 20219-20 season which kicks off at 12 noon on Sunday 3rd May 2020.
By undertaking this mammoth challenge it’s hoped that the riders will be able to raise considerable funds for WWSET, who are the official charity of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. All of the funds raised will go towards the delivery of their various activities and projects, all of which focus on one or more of the following:
- Promoting health & well-being
- Contributing to social inclusion & community cohesion
- Providing educational opportunities
- Increasing participation in sports and physical activity
The ride will be professionally organised and fully supported leaving the riders to focus only on keeping the pedals turning. The route will be guided, transport back to High Wycombe will be provided, hotel rooms on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights will be booked, support vehicles will accompany the riders the whole time, each participant will be kitted-out in a custom designed cycling top…and WWSET will even organise match tickets and a meal for all riders upon arrival at the Wham Stadium.
Upon announcing the ride, Head of WWSET Paul Foley had this to say:
“Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust is a registered charity that exists in order to harness the appeal and power of the Wycombe Wanderers FC brand in order to do good within our community, and as with the majority of charities we rely on fundraising efforts to deliver many of our projects. We’re really hopeful that this ride will appeal to lots of people both inside and outside the club and that lots of money will be raised for WWSET, all of which will be spent on projects that help our local community flourish.”
