Wycombe Wanderers vs Portsmouth
Saturday 6th April 2019, k.o. 3pm
Adams Park
Referee: John Busby
Match Sponsor: Wycombe Leisure Centre
Supporting: Kick It Out

Last weekend one of these sides were licking their wounds after a last-minute goal condemned them to a 10th game without a win; the other was toasting a Wembley triumph in the Checkatrade Trophy Final.

Now Wycombe and Portsmouth lock horns at Adams Park in pursuit of different ambitions, as the Blues look to turn around their form to retain League 1 status, while Pompey attempt to apply pressure to the top two as they bid to avoid the lottery of the play-offs and reach the Championship after a seven-year absence.

Wanderers will take heart from an unbeaten home record against other sides in the top eight so far this season, as they kick off a double-header of games challenging for promotion, with Charlton set to visit three days later.

The reverse fixture in September ended 2-2 after a cat-and-mouse game saw the hosts overturn a one-goal deficit before Joe Jacobson blasted home a late penalty to secure a share of the spoils - the fifth draw in 11 meetings of the sides in league and cup, with three victories apiece.
