Using the car? These are the recommended road directions
Take the westbound M40. At the junction with the M42, branch left and follow signs ‘The North’ to join the M42. At J7 branch left (sign-posted ‘The North West’) and join the northbound M6. Exit the M6 at Junction 7 and take the A34 towards Walsall (beware of speed cameras on the dual carriageway). At the end of the dual carriageway turn left at the Bell Inn public house into Walstead Road (sign posted Bescot Stadium, Bescot Station P & R). Continue straight on this road for two miles, passing another pub called the Tiger on your left. You will come to Bescot Stadium and entrance to the away end on your right.
Mileage from High Wycombe = 103 (approx. journey time 1 hour 40 minutes)
Recommended area for car parking
Car parking is available at the ground (cost £4). The entrance to this car park is off Bescot Crescent next to the Park Inn Hotel and is signposted as 'Blue Zone'. Another option is to park at the nearby Bescot Stadium Railway Station (£2). In addition, there is some street parking to be had off Wallows Lane
Travelling by coach?
OWWSA will be running a coach that will leave Adams Park at 11.00. Travel prices are £18 for adults, £17 for seniors, and £16 for juniors. The price for non-members is £23 (no refund if game is cancelled and the coaches have left their depot). Non-members are required to pay at the time of booking their seat. If you wish to book by phone (Rena 01494 520179, Graham 07876 267301) or by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) you need to do so by Thursday 25th October at 17.00 hrs. If booking by email please make sure you receive an acknowledgment.
Using the train?
This trip is possible by train from Wycombe but involves changing at usually Banbury or Leamington Spa and then at Birmingham New Street where you catch a West Midlands Trains service to Bescot Stadium. That station is just a few minutes’ walk from the turnstiles. A quick return is the 17:19 off Bescot that will get you back to Wycombe at 19:56, after changing at Birmingham New Street and Leamington Spa.
Facilities for away fans
The ground capacity is 11,300 (all seated). Away fans are situated in the University of Wolverhampton Stand behind one goal. The stand is covered but there are a few supporting pillars at the front which might impede your view. There is a licensed bar area for visiting supporters in this stand, with hot and cold snacks/drinks available. Live football is also shown in the concourses. The official programme is on sale around the ground priced £3.
Spare time on your hands?
I have been informed that the Saddlers Club situated just outside the stadium is no longer available to away supporters. Just a short walk along Bescot Crescent from the away end is the Park Inn Hotel, which has a bar and shows Sky Sports. Otherwise, the nearest pub is 'King George V' on Wallows Lane. This is OK but does get rather busy. This is about a 15-minute walk, opposite Morrisons Supermarket. From the stadium go past McDonalds on your right and turn left into Wallows Lane. At the end of the lane turn left onto the main road and the pub is setback on the left. I’ve heard that away fans should avoid the ‘Fulbrook’ pub near to the ground.
