Ladies make it four wins from four

Woodward scores hat-trick to take personal tally to 13 as Wanderers continue 100% winning record.

Wycombe Wanderers Ladies recorded a fourth consecutive league victory to keep up their 100% winning start to the season, overcoming Wokingham & Emmbrook 5-1.

Tara Woodward bagged another hat-trick to take her tally to 13 league goals already, while Christina O'Connor and Bonnie Messitt were also on target.

Andy McIntosh's side led 2-0 at half-time in their first away game of the season and Alice Lilley's strike for the Sumas proved to be no more than a consolation as Wycombe moved on to 12 points from 12, with a goal difference of +23.

Wanderers dominated possession for most of the game but the home side were resilient and competitive. O'Connor opened the scoring driving a classy low shot in from the edge of the box. Woodward followed up with some excellent combination play with Inniss on 35 minutes.

The second half followed a similar pattern; Messitt reacted quickly and squeezed home a loose ball in off the post.

Wokingham pulled a goal back which was balanced out by a long shot from Woodward who then completed her hat trick on 81 minutes. A controlled effort against a gutsy side who made establishing fluent passing difficult.

Team: Batkin, Hudson, Jacobs, Dean, Barette, O'Connor, Bagshaw, Todd, Messitt, Inniss, Woodward.

Subs: Southby, Lennard, Hussey-Burd

Wanderers hit the road next weekend to take on Southampton on Sunday, kicking off at 2pm at Lapstone Park, Pavilion Close, Fair Oak, Eastleigh, Hants SO50 7PS.

The Saints sit third with nine points, although they've played six matches already, while Moneyfields are second with a 100% start in their three games.
