Wycombe Wanderers are sad to hear of the death of former player George Wharton, who passed away this week at the age of 97.

Leslie George Wharton - the father of Lynden Finch, secretary of the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association - was the oldest surviving ex-player, having played for the club during World War II whilst home on leave, and again after the war until 1948.

The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Lynden and the rest of George's family and friends.
