Despite leaving his job with the Republic of Ireland national team on Tuesday, the former Wanderers boss will be among the guests at tonight’s Ex-Players dinner at Adams Park.
The Blues legend has confirmed he will join many of his 1990s heroes as nearly 200 ex-players and guests celebrate WWEPA’s tenth anniversary.
His old skipper, Glyn Creaser, has cajoled many former teammates from the hugely successful O’Neill era – including Keith Ryan, Andy Robinson, Kim Casey, Matt Crossley and Simon Stapleton – to join him along with Steve Guppy, himself involved in the Ireland shake-up this week.
Martin will also be among the four ex-managers to attend, joining Brian Lee, Peter Suddaby and Alan Gane. Current boss Gareth Ainsworth, his assistant Richard Dobson and goalkeeping coach Andy Fairman are also among the guests along with members of the Club and Trust Boards.
Players from the 1950s through to the 200s will be amongst those celebrating including three survivors from the 1957 FA Amateur Cup Final team – Len Worley, Mike Wicks and Jimmy Truett.
