BMI The Chiltern Hospital is very proud of its Paediatric Service which has its own ward and includes an electric car for our young visitors to drive themselves to the operating theatre!
Our team of specialist consultants and children’s nurses are in place to provide high-quality care for children and teenagers, offering both a general paediatric service and day case care for surgical procedures. Our nurses will see children from 0-16 years through our outpatient services and from 3-16 years for day-case procedures.
We offer a number of treatments for a variety of medical conditions, some of which include:
- Urological problems
- Ear, nose and throat
- Orthopaedic surgery
- General paediatric surgery
- Dental Surgery
Our aim is simple – to make the child’s stay with us as comfortable and as short as possible.
With our friendly helpful nurses we strive to provide a comforting child friendly and a caring pathway, reducing fears and anxieties for children and parents alike.
We actively encourage parents and children to visit the hospital in advance to familiarise themselves with the surroundings and help the child settle well in the unfamiliar environment. Whilst at the hospital we aim to make the stay for our young patients as comfortable and relaxing as possible with a number of special facilities and services which include a child friendly unit, activities and a special children’s menu.
Parents will also have peace of mind knowing that that their child is being cared for in a secure environment, by a team of specialists consultants and qualified children’s nurses and with easy access to television and Wi-Fi (very important for our teenage visitors!).
We understand being in hospital can be daunting for anyone, but children can find it particularly frightening. Having a child in hospital can be equally difficult to deal with if you are the parent.
That is why we try, at every opportunity, to ease the anxiety for both you and your child.
